Please follow these rules, it makes a fun and enjoyable experience for every one. If you don't you will get a warning from a staff member and further action taken if necessary.
General Rules
1. Joining: If you join as a member of this forum, please make sure that you take a name proper for an Antiquity-Character. As well, before posting in the role-play section, please fill out the formula about your character's history and profile, it is set in the "Introduce Yourself" board, in "Your History".
2. Activity: If you join this forum, try and stay as active as you can, preferably get online once per day. If you are leaving for a couple of days and won't be able to get online, please inform us, make a thread about it in the "Your Life" board.
3. Spelling and Grammar: Please try and spell the words in your posts correctly, and try to write in good grammar so that the members who read your posts will understand what you mean. If you have problems with spelling, please use the "Spell Check" button when you reply.
4. Posting: Each role-play post has to be the minimum length of three sentences. If you have problems with writing more, describe the environment, the surroundings of your character, the feelings, thoughts and speeches of the character. With a bit of training it is not difficult to write more than three sentences. But if you write less than three sentences, you will recieve a pm of one of the staff, reminding you to write more or your post will be deleted without warning.
Do not double-post in a thread where other people are posting as well, give them the opportunity to reply. In the threads, stay on topics and please, no spamming.
5. Hacking Threads: If people are posting peacefully in a thread, you have to ask for permission so you can post together in this thread. Do not just pop up in the thread and post that you attack, you will get a warning from one of the staff otherwise.
6. Godmodding and Powerplaying: Do not godmode or powerplay in the threads.
One example for godmodding would be: "The Germans charged forward, killing many of the Turks."
This is unfair, because it is up for the person who controls the Turks to control his/her own numbers. But at the same time, be fair in writing about winning or losing. Refusing to take any losses or only very few losses while rping will lead to you getting a warning from the staff team to play fairly. More about winning and losing is explained in the "Battle Rules".
7. Metagaming: Metagaming is a form of cheating or gaining informations in an unfair way. One example for mategaming would be:
First poster: "The English People moved quietly up the cliffs, covered by darkness." Second poster: "The French knew of this and sent a volley rocks and boulders onto the English."
This is an unfair way to roleplay, and would destroy the fun of this play for the first poster. The game would become boring and predictable, as no plan would work out. Be fair and avoid mategaming, but play your character wholeheartedly, do not pretend to know what your character cannot know.
8. Swearing: Do not swear unnecessarily in your posts, it only annoys other Members and some may be insulted by it.
9. Advertising: If you want to advertise your own page in this forum, or affiliate with the forum, you have to advertise this forum on your site as well. If you haven’t done that then we won’t advertise yours either, if you later remove us from yours then we will remove your ours as well. Be fair!
10. Images and Signatures: Do not post any images that stretch the site and so obviously are too large.
11. Threatening: We do not want any threatening or swearing at other Members on this page. If you have a problem with someone, then send a pm to this person and work it out so that it is no problem anymore. Act grown-up and respect the others, think how they would reacted to your post, and ask yourself, “How would I like to be treated?”
Living in the Medieval World.
For Kings, Queens / Lords, Ladies.
Your Land
You must split up your population into combatants and non-combatants. You can not have more than 40% of your population as combatants, due to that fact that in most societies old people, women and children are considered unable to fight... You must make posts in here describing your military; where they are, how many of them and how well trained they are, the condition of their weapons and armor, etc. Don't be unrealistic, your men can't all be heavily armoured knights because your treasurey wouldn't be able to cope with that unless you had a very small army. The defences and general terrain of your land should be in another post, as should a list of other lands you are at war with, have an alliance with or have trade rights. Another post should be where people can talk to the king/queen (e.g a throne room), another where normal people can talk and meet (e.g a pub/tavern) and optionally markets as well were people can buy and sell goods and a topic on the country's information/history.
Population
Your population grows 10% of it's non-combatant size every game year, however if you have a trade agreement with another country or large city it goes up another 10%, e.g A population of 1,000,000 non-combatants would go up 20% every game year with just one trade agreement. However if this country started waging a war it would lose it's 10% bonus. For every war you lose 10% population growth. One game year is a month on this game.If you have to many wars you start to get minus population, which is definitely not a good thing!
