Al Ahmar rode towards the east facing wall of the Sulantan's palace at Cairo, He rode with 1000 of his very best cavalry all heavily armed with bows, spears and axes. Out in front rode 50 of the fastest cavalry a scouts. Behind the riders, a camel train followed them. they carried all the food and tents needed for the journey to see the Sultan. With the camel train the Sultan's daughter rode in a covered wagon closely guarded by 100 of the 1000 men that the Sultan took with him on his journeys. The dust cloud the riders casts across the dry desert could be seen from cairo an hour before they even arrived at the great Palace. They rode through the eastern gate, it loomed high above the horsemen, its great face cast a shadow across the dry sands that surrounded the palace. The sultan dismounted, he rode with his riders and not, like his daughter, in a wagon because he believed that to be a great leader he had to suffer like his men suffered and therefore he was highly respected amongst his men. He handed his mount to the rider next to him and proceeded to the Sultan with closely followed by 10 of his men and his daughter.
